The Power of Declaring God’s Truth Over Our Lives
Lately, I’ve been hearing a lot about the power of declaring God’s truth over your life.
At first, it seemed a little “hocus pocus”. But the more I thought about it, the more sense it made!
I became a little more willing to try this new idea!
Over the last few months, I have been stuck in a challenging situation that seems to have no end.
And not only does my situation stay the same, but I do not seem to be able to move forward in my thoughts and attitudes.
I feel completely stuck, and it’s time for a change.
I’ve done a little research on why declaring God’s truth out loud and how that can affect our lives. Here’s what I’ve found!

The power of the truth in your life.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 KJV
Truth in the Bible is a priority because of the power that it holds.
Over and over, we find verses regarding the importance of truth.
Here is a partial list of those verses.

In these verses, we find that truth sets people free, sanctifies them, changes them, and leads them.
The importance of thinking truth and speaking truth will powerfully impact our lives!

Consistently remembering and speaking God’s truths over our lives is a commandment from God.
There are many times in the Bible where God commanded the Israelites to create pillars and altars, and to place stones to remember the miracles of God.
Examples of them include the twelve stones that he commanded the Israelites to place in the Jordan River.
God wanted them to remember how he miraculously pulled back the water, and they were able to pass through on dry land.
There was one stone for every tribe of Israel. God had them place the stones there for the next generation.
When the next generation asked why the rocks were there, the miracle would be remembered and spoken of.
You can find more information regarding pillars and altars here on Bible Hub. https://biblehub.com/topical/s/symbolism_of_the_altar_and_pillars.htm
Speaking God’s word was also commanded.
Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Duetoronomy 11:19
When you are teaching others, you are learning and remembering as well. You are meditating on God’s truth.
We please God when the words of our mouth and our thoughts focus on his truth.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14 ESV

Our words have power. We can use this positively or negatively.
But the older I get, the more I realize that there is power in using our words for good.
Jesus himself fought with Satan in the wilderness and spoke verses to address Satan’s lies. (Matthew 4:1-11)
He also used his words to curse a fig tree that was not producing. (Mark 11:12-25)
Then there is this verse about moving a mountain.
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23 KJV
Andrew Wommack teaches about speaking to the problem in your life. He has given a powerful sermon on this here.
Declaring God’s truth over your life is a powerful action.
We are focusing on God’s Word, which changes us.
We are rebuking Satan.
And we are in constant prayer over our lives.
This kind of power is precisely what we need! We need lasting change in us and in our lives!
I now have fifty-one truths I declare over my life and my situation. My progress is slow, but I feel the wheels turning.
Please spend some time finding verses and truths that specifically address your needs and situations.
Then begin speaking these truths over your life. It will be life-changing!
Prayers for your journey,
Lacey
