Teas That Will Combat Cancer

There are teas and spices that have been proven to help fight cancer. These are not a cure-all, but they are great additions to your menu and your eating habits!

There is a prior post on specific vegetables and fruits that fight cancer. You can find that here.

For those not tracking my journey, almost two years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. It completely shocked me.

Cancer wasn’t even on my radar. No one in my immediate family or extended family has gone through cancer until after ninety. You can read about my journey here. https://www.singlemomoutwest.com/breast-cancer-stories/

I have finished all my treatments and surgeries. Yet, I still take a couple of medications. This is to make sure it doesn’t come back.

Now, I’m focusing on how I can prevent a recurrence. I’m also working on getting my body back into a place where it can fight cancer naturally.

This is the part of the journey that I would like to share with you. As I learn and research, I hope this information will also be helpful to you.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or a medical provider, I am simply a woman trying to learn and research ways that I can prevent further illness and take care of my body. Please do your own research and talk to your own medical provider.

Teas that fight cancer.

I was surprised to learn that certain teas can help fight cancer.

We will research three separate teas with cancer-fighting

properties.

Green Tea

Green tea is full of antioxidants. These antioxidants neutralize the free radicals that cause DNA damage. Antioxidants do this by donating an electron to the free radical. When this happens, the free radicals can’t cause oxidative damage to cells.

Green tea is a great way to add a dose of antioxidants to your diet and is delicious, too!

Soursop Tea

Disclaimer: Soursop has been studied primarily in animal models and laboratory environments. Please also note that it can lower blood pressure if you are taking blood pressure medication.

Soursop tea is another powerhouse. It fights cancer by decreasing inflammation. It boosts your immune system due to its high Vitamin C content. It also includes extra cancer-fighting properties, including alkaloids and flavonoids.

Soursop tea should be consumed with caution, and after conducting your own research. However, the benefits scientists are seeing are excellent.

Turmeric Tea

As I researched teas and spices that combat cancer, I came across Turmeric Tea. The benefits of this tea are many!

Turmeric fights inflammation, has antioxidants, and interrupts cancer pathways. This inhibits tumor growth and metastasis.

Other Teas to Research

During my research, I came across two other teas that were suggested. Essiac Tea and Dandelion Tea.

There are conflicting reports about Essiac Tea. I encourage you to conduct your own research on this topic. Here are a couple of links to get you started.

The first one is from NIH.

The next one is from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dandelion Tea also has positive attributes. Here are a couple of links to help you research it.

Tea has been around for centuries, and so have its many benefits!

Teas offer hydration, comfort, and many extra benefits.

If you are now going through cancer treatment, these teas are a great place to start your research. They are also beneficial if you want to prevent a cancer recurrence. Alternatively, if you would simply like to protect your body through tea, these teas are an excellent choice.

Prayers for your journey,

Lacey
